QBESync is a UAE Peppol e-invoicing connector developed by Perfonec — the only UAE-built solution designed specifically for QuickBooks users. It connects both QuickBooks Desktop (versions 2017 to 2024) and QuickBooks Online to the UAE Peppol network for mandatory e-invoicing.
When a B2B invoice is confirmed in QuickBooks, QBESync creates the PINT AE XML automatically and transmits it through the UAE Peppol network to the buyer. Your accounts team consequently does nothing extra after go-live. Perfonec is the Authorised QuickBooks Dealer and Certified Pro Advisor in UAE and handles the full QBESync setup.
| Feature | QuickBooks Desktop | QuickBooks Online |
|---|---|---|
| Versions supported | 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 | All current QB Online plans |
| QBESync integration | ✅ Easier — direct local API, more stable | ⚠️ Cloud API — more moving parts |
| Data audit | ✅ Easier — bulk edit all records | ⚠️ Edit one contact at a time |
| Offline working | ✅ Yes — Peppol sends when connected | ❌ Requires active internet |
| Invoice data control | ✅ Better — all data local | ⚠️ Cloud sync — occasional delays |
| Large invoice volumes | ✅ Faster — processed locally | ⚠️ Depends on internet speed |
| Multi-user | ✅ Pro, Premier, Enterprise editions | ✅ Multiple users, role-based |

QB Desktop’s local API does not depend on internet speed or third-party server availability. Therefore, invoices transmit consistently regardless of network conditions. Furthermore, there is no OAuth authentication renewal required — which means the QBESync connection stays active without periodic re-authorisation steps.
QB Online uses a cloud API that requires an active internet connection, OAuth authentication renewal, and synchronisation between the cloud and QBESync. As a result, any cloud API interruption can delay invoice transmission.
In QB Desktop, you can open the Customer List or Item List and edit multiple records in a single view. Consequently, fixing 200 customer records with missing buyer TRNs takes hours in QB Desktop rather than days of one-at-a-time editing.
QB Online requires editing customer and item records individually through the cloud interface. While the interface is clean, bulk editing is more limited — which means the data audit process takes considerably longer on QB Online.
This is particularly valuable for UAE trading, manufacturing, and construction businesses where internet connectivity is not always guaranteed at every site or warehouse location. Invoicing operations therefore never stop because of a connection issue.
QB Online requires an active internet connection at all times. If the connection drops during invoice confirmation, the invoice cannot be processed until connectivity returns — which can cause delays in time-sensitive billing situations.
When QBESync processes a batch of invoices from QB Desktop, it reads directly from the local database — which is fast and consistent. Furthermore, Peppol transmission queuing happens locally, so large batches do not slow the system down.
QB Online performance depends on internet speed and server response time. During peak usage periods, cloud server response can slow down invoice processing and Peppol transmission queuing for high-volume businesses.
The PINT AE XML that QBESync generates always reflects the current state of your QB Desktop data — immediately and accurately. As a result, there is no risk of a recent customer TRN update not being picked up before an invoice is transmitted.
QB Online data lives in the cloud. Any sync delay between a recent data change and QBESync’s cloud API read can occasionally affect what is included in the PINT AE XML — particularly for businesses that update customer records frequently.
If your team works remotely across multiple locations without a central server, QB Online removes the need for VPN access to a local machine. Furthermore, if your business is small with low invoice volume and you already use QB Online for other Intuit integrations, switching to Desktop may not be worth the disruption.
Startups and new businesses that have not yet invested in local accounting infrastructure may additionally find QB Online easier to start with. QBESync consequently supports both versions — so whichever you choose, UAE e-invoicing compliance is achievable with the same setup process.
| Business Type | Go-Live Date | Fines Begin |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue AED 50M or above | 1 January 2027 | 2 January 2027 |
| All other VAT-registered SMEs | 1 July 2027 | 2 July 2027 |
| Pilot phase — all businesses | From 1 July 2026 | No fines |
Yes. QBESync supports QuickBooks Desktop versions 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Therefore, you do not need to upgrade your QuickBooks version to use QBESync — your existing version is supported. Perfonec confirms version compatibility as part of the free readiness check.
Yes — QuickBooks data can be migrated from QB Online to QB Desktop. However, migration takes time and requires careful planning. Consequently, if your deadline is soon, it may be faster to set up QBESync on QB Online now and migrate to Desktop later. Perfonec advises on the best approach after the free readiness check.
No. Your team confirms invoices in QuickBooks exactly as they always have. QBESync runs in the background — creating the PINT AE XML and transmitting through the UAE Peppol network automatically after each confirmed B2B invoice. The Peppol send status appears in the QBESync dashboard.
A standard QBESync setup with Perfonec takes 4 to 8 weeks — covering platform check, PINT AE data audit, ASP setup, QBESync configuration, pilot testing, and team training. QB Desktop setup is typically faster than QB Online due to easier bulk data editing. Perfonec provides a clear timeline after the free readiness check.

We handle the full QBESync setup for both QB Desktop and QB Online — platform check, PINT AE data audit, ASP setup, pilot testing, and go-live support. Free readiness check — no cost, no commitment.
